Terms of Use

Ground rules for using and contributing to Sermon Registry

These terms are a plain-language working draft and do not constitute formal legal advice. They explain how the directory may be used and how sermon submissions are handled.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Sermon Registry, you agree to be bound by these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Purpose of the service

Sermon Registry is an archive and discovery tool for Christian sermons and church information. It is not a hosting platform. Sermon media remains hosted by third-party platforms and churches where applicable.

Use of the directory

You may use Sermon Registry to search, discover, and access publicly listed sermons and church information for personal, study, or ministry purposes. Systematic scraping, automated mass downloading, or commercial redistribution of directory content without permission is not permitted.

Sermon submissions

When submitting a sermon, you confirm that you have permission to share or link to the content being submitted. Submissions should be accurate to the best of your knowledge. Sermon Registry may edit, reject, remove, or update submitted metadata at any time.

Review and moderation

Submissions are reviewed before publication. Submission does not guarantee inclusion. Published entries may be removed or revised if found to be inaccurate, inappropriate, or in violation of these terms.

Accuracy of information

Sermon Registry makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate metadata, but does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any listing. Transcripts, takeaways, and tags may contain errors and should be checked against original sources.

Third-party content and links

Sermon Registry links to external platforms and church websites. These are operated by third parties and Sermon Registry is not responsible for their content, availability, or data practices.

Intellectual property

Sermon content, including recordings, transcripts, and related materials, belongs to the original speakers, churches, and publishers where applicable. Inclusion in Sermon Registry does not transfer ownership or grant additional permissions beyond what the original publisher has made available.

Prohibited use

You must not use Sermon Registry to submit false, misleading, or harmful information; to infringe intellectual property rights; or to engage in any unlawful activity.

Changes to the service

Sermon Registry may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. These terms may be updated as the service develops.
