God's word is creative. When He speaks, He creates the way forward. He said, "Let there be light," and light came to be. This reveals a fundamental truth: Jesus has simple solutions to all our complex problems. Yet we often miss these solutions because we are so complex ourselves.
Consider the widow in 2 Kings 4 who faced devastation. Her husband was dead, creditors demanded her two sons as collateral, and she had nothing. The prophet asked, "What do you have in your house?" She replied, "Nothing except a small jar of oil." He didn't take it from her; instead, he told her what to do with it. "Borrow as many empty vessels as you can. Pour oil into each one." The oil multiplied miraculously. She sold it, paid her debt, and lived on the remainder. Simple solution to a complex problem.
Or take the story of Naaman, the great man who came seeking healing. He expected something complicated, but the prophet said simply: "Go to the Jordan River and wash yourself seven times." He had traveled to many countries seeking a cure, yet the answer was simple. His flesh was restored like that of a little child. Please, embrace the simplicity of the gospel—it is the custodian of God's power.
When Jesus faced the impossible—feeding five thousand people with insufficient bread and fish—He knew what He would do. When you give thanks for the insufficient, it becomes surplus. He gave thanks, and the bread multiplied supernaturally.
"Thanksgiving terminated the famine. Thanksgiving. Not merely memory—thanksgiving."
Multiplication is triggered by thanksgiving. Jeremiah 30:19 declares:
"Out of thanksgiving shall proceed gladness, and I will multiply them. They shall not be few. I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small."
Nothing is permitted to finish in your house if you understand the mystery of thanksgiving. Someone here gave testimony: they served water as dinner with thanksgiving. The following morning, a basket of food arrived at their gate without anyone being told. Nothing dries up with thanksgiving.
When Jesus came to Lazarus's tomb, He said, "Father, I thank you because you have heard me." Then He commanded, "Lazarus, come forth." When you give thanks to anything dead, it comes back to life. When you give thanks to anything dying, life resuscitates. Thanksgiving has tremendous power within it.
Thanksgving brought our church to where we are by God's grace. God would open a door, and we would say, "Thank you, Jesus." Then He would open ten more doors. We kept scaling new heights with thanksgiving.
A genuine and growing love for God holds the answer to all the challenges of life. The greatest commandment is:
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy mind, with all thy strength." (Mark 12:30)
On these two commandments—love for God and love for neighbor—hang all the laws and the prophets. Everything in Scripture delivers on this platform. Everything.
"Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has entered into the heart of any man, what God has prepared for them that love Him."
Yet we must ask ourselves: Where is the proof of the sincerity of my love for God? This is critical. In 2 Corinthians 8:8, Paul writes:
"This do to prove the sincerity of your love."
When my wife was challenged by the spirit of death, I said to Jesus, "That to heal is not what makes you God. Whether you heal or not, you are my God." He responded, "My son, you caught me already." When your love for God is not tied to things—not conditional upon a house, a husband, children, or healing—then everything lines up in your favor.
Yesterday's love holds no water with God. What matters is current and burning love. Solomon loved the Lord in the past tense, and God made things out of him. But then Solomon switched and loved many strange women, and God turned His back. Not past tense love. The love of many has waxed cold. What used to happen has stopped happening because their love has waxed cold. Wake up!
Jesus asks each one of us the same question He asked Peter: Do you love me? This is not yesterday's love but current, burning love that makes a believer a sign and a wonder.
Peter answered, "Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you." And Jesus said, "Do this to prove that you love me." Peter is still speaking today; all the other fishermen are gone, but Peter remains. When you answer that question in the affirmative, it turns into generational blessing and generational wonder.
Peter moved with such unusual unction that his very shadow healed the sick and set captives free. Jesus said, "What I do, shall you do also. And greater works than these shall you do." Peter's shadow did what Jesus's shadow never did.
"Do you love me? Three times. Yes, Lord, you know all things and you know that I love you."
Then He said, "Take charge. That is your new story."
By redemption, you are entitled to God's presence. But through your love for Him, you are entitled to His manifest presence. His presence is available to all believers, but you activate it through your love.
"Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has entered into the heart of any man, what God has prepared for them that love Him—not for them that are saved, but for them that love Him."
When you maintain your love for God, His presence goes with you supernaturally. Wherever you appear, He shows up. That is your story from now on.
I have seen things in my life and in this ministry that I never read in any book. Things happen that I never prayed for. He opens chapters on His own accord.
One person was captured by ritual killers. On their way in the vehicle, his phone rang with a ringtone of me praying in tongues. The captors asked, "Who is that?" He mentioned my name. They said, "Who sent you?" He replied, "My father." They said, "Please, park the vehicle. Give him his sins. I give him money to go back to where we picked him from." Why? God's presence goes with you supernaturally to cause your adversaries to tremble.
"His presence with me is my strength and confidence."
Therefore, jealously guard His presence by maintaining a growing love for Him. That is what makes love for God the mystery of all mysteries. This message is the delicacy of the redeemed. Connect with it and you keep triumphing in life without sweat.
First Corinthians 13 reveals the supremacy of love:
"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity, I am only making noise. Though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and I have all faith so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing."
Love is superior to the anointing, superior to every gift of the Holy Spirit, superior to all knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom, superior to all knowledge, superior to all faith. Yet it is a free virtue for whosoever is interested. It is not a gift; it is a choice.
Faith can fail. I pray for you that your faith faileth not (Luke 22:31). The anointing can leave a servant. Samson had the anointing, but it departed, and they plucked out his eyes. He stood up as in former times, but the Spirit of God had left him (Judges 16:20). The Spirit of God can leave you.
But when you are in love, you dwell in God and God in you. That is why love never fails. As long as your love is in place, God's presence is secure.
Faith secures the hand of God. Belief secures the hand of God. Vision by faith will deliver; the hand of God will carry you. But love secures His presence—there is a world of difference.
You can carry a note from a president and wait in somebody's office because you carry a note. But the president himself cannot wait in anybody's office. Before he arrives, the owner of the office comes out to greet him. No waiting. He is not coming anywhere; he is just entering.
That is what love is. Other virtues secure His hand, but love manifests His presence. An unstoppable presence of God. That is how your life will be from now on. Your life becomes unstoppable from this moment. No situation will stand against you in the name of Jesus.
Israel came out of Egypt, and God was in their midst. The sea saw them and fled. When you are in love, God takes over your fight. You don't fight with love; love fights. God takes over your fight when you are in love.
"The sea saw them and fled. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord."
God's presence causes our troubles to tremble. God's presence with me causes my troubles and my troublers to tremble. It causes witches and wizards to tremble. The money powers tremble.
From today, everything troubling you begins to tremble. Everything troubling your family begins to tremble. Everything troubling your business begins to tremble. Every trouble in your career begins to tremble in the name of Jesus.
Here are some down-to-earth proofs of our love for Him:
"Oh, how I love Thy law!" (Psalm 119:97-98)
You cannot love Him and not love His word. A true lover of God delights in Scripture and seeks revelation.
"This is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. His commandments are not grievous." (1 John 5:3)
Obedience becomes your way of life. God's love is not theoretical. Whoever has My commandment and keeps it is the one that loves Me. Not the one who sings, "I love you." The one who has My commandment and keeps it—he loves Me. And I will manifest Myself to him.
The Macedonian church was so much in love that their poverty abounded to their liberality. When you are truly in love, you give to His cause.
I remember when we were believing God for 3,000 naira to pay off the rent of the church building in 1983. I said, "If I had this money, God will not appeal to me to give it. But now that we are at the same level..." The time is coming where some take off in the air. What am I doing? I am sold out to God.
"God so loved, and God so gave. Abraham so loved, and Abraham so gave."
You cannot love and not be a giver. If you are not a giver, you are not a lover.
When you give, stop questioning the integrity of your lover. Stop questioning the integrity of God. I have given, and I have never regretted. I have never questioned when God will return it. When our income was 18,000 plus in a year, my title was there. Everyone at our level gave up after one year, some after five, some after four. But I remained in that madness till tomorrow. And what is coming to pass in my life? "You shall lend to nations." And we are doing that today.
You are not on contract with God. When you are in love, you are not questioning the integrity of your lover.
You will enjoy fellowship with Him. David said:
"Morning, noon, and evening will I pray." (Psalm 55:17)
A man with a heart for God loves His presence. Prayer is one of the platforms where we interact with His presence. You cannot love Him and not love interacting with Him on the prayer altar. It becomes like food to you.
After I got saved, prayer was like food to me. I didn't believe in praying in a house; I believed in praying on the mountain. I believed in getting out. You cannot love Him and not love His presence.
On my way here from the old church, my friend in the car said, "I have said 'thank you' 72 times between the old church and here." When you are truly in love, you are living in His presence. You are not talking to a vacuum. It is inside you; it is flowing out of you. His presence is your utmost interest at all times.
Love is greater than faith. Love is greater than vision. Love is greater than revelation. Love is greater than the anointing. Because faith can fail, anointing can depart, but love—when you are in love, you dwell in God and God in you.
These are some fundamental proofs of genuine love for God. We keep growing in it so that His impact gets stronger by the day. Every true lover of God serves him. Abraham was God's friend and servant. David was a man after God's own heart. Paul was a servant of Jesus Christ, a diehard, passionate lover of Jesus.
Every true lover is a delightsome servant. When I was 19, baptized in the Holy Ghost, I came to a village with no church. I said, "Jesus, I must not leave this place without establishing a church." A church was built. I got there from my own little hut. They gave me a bush lamp—"Silver of God we have none, but what we have give unto you. The light brought to our village, let it shine around the world."
You love Him, you will serve Him. You don't have to be called to be a founder, pastor, teacher, or evangelist. If you love Him, you will serve Him. If you don't serve Him, you don't love Him.
This makes love the greatest of all spiritual virtues. Faith, hope, and love abide, but the greatest of these is love. Faith secures the hand of God, but love manifests His presence. Other virtues secure His hand, but love brings His presence—an unstoppable presence of God. That is how your life will be from now on.
May each one receive grace to stay in love with Jesus. From this time on, everything will start working together for your good. Your spiritual life, your family life, your business and career—everything will work together for your good as long as you stay in love with Christ.
