Our running teaching has been A New Beginning, with our anchor scripture from Isaiah 43:18-19. God declares: "Remember ye not the former things neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth. Shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the desert and rivers in the wilderness."
This speaks to impossible situations. In the midst of what men think is impossible, by the grace of God, they shall become cheap possibilities for you in the name of Jesus.
"God speaks according to his power, not according to your power or my power. He speaks according to his unlimitedness, not according to our limitedness."
To ask God how He will do it is to doubt Him or to limit Him. Whatever He says is as good as done. Believe Him. There shall be a way out for you in the name of Jesus.
On Sunday, June 14th, we looked at an overview of the subject of new beginning. There is no time too late for you to have a new beginning. Abraham began at age 75, and even after Sarah died, he took another wife and lived to 175 years old. At 80, Caleb declared, "Give me the mountain, for I am still as strong as I was 40 years ago." For you, I decree a new beginning in the name of Jesus.
On July 12th, we taught that God speaks to our life and future, but a prophet speaks to our moment. When the prophet declared that by the next day there would be abundance at the gate of Samaria, a man doubted, saying, "Even if God opens windows in heaven, shall this thing be?" But God surprised him by using four lepers to make it happen. The prophet told him, "You shall see it with your eyes and taste of it." God's abundance came to pass, though the man was trampled under foot. So believe in the Lord your God that you may be established; believe also His prophet, so shall you prosper.
"Blessed is she that believeth, for there shall be a performance of those things which the Lord has spoken."
All you need is belief.
Don't merely watch prophecies—you must war with prophecies to see them come to pass. In 1 Timothy 1:18, Paul says to Timothy: "This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecy which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare."
Prophecies are the declarations of the agenda of God as placed in the mouth of His servant. The servant declares what God has spoken, not to make us happy, but to fulfill His purpose.
I heard of a man of God who instructed his people to pray and fast for 100 days. Many questioned why 100 days, but they fasted. During that time, a military government was in power, but God changed it. Ambassadors were withdrawn, and new ones were appointed—29 of the 37 were from that church, and they were posted to different countries. Most of those places have not been touched by that denomination until now.
On another occasion, the man of God said, "Before this year runs out, somebody here will become a landlord. Everyone get quiet, but a messenger said amen." The following year, the chairman asked one of his staff, "Have I given you a Christmas present this year?" When the man said no, the chairman said, "Follow me." The chairman had bid for a house and didn't need it, so he gave the man the key. When the man arrived at the address, he found not just a house but a large duplex building. He entered and went through it in disbelief. When he returned to the office to thank his boss, the chairman asked, "Were there furnishings there?" The man said no. The chairman replied, "Every year I change my house furniture. The set I just changed—they are new. I'll have them delivered to your house." In one day, through belief in the word spoken, the man became owner of a new house, furnished with his chairman's newest furniture.
"This year shall be your year of new beginnings in the name of Jesus."
Prophecy is general—it tells you what is available for everybody.
Revelation is personal—it is what God reveals to you in your own particular area of need. Your new beginning may be a job; mine may be promotion. So new beginning will not work for us the same way. Revelations are a virtue of inestimable value when it comes to the fulfillment of prophecy. What is God saying to you as an individual?
Divine Guidance is today's focus. Prophecy tells you what is available. Revelation tells you what to do as an individual to take delivery of your portion. But divine guidance shows you the step-by-step approach.
Without divine guidance, a man can be frustrated in the journey of life. But no one here shall be frustrated in the name of Jesus. Divine guidance is a non-negotiable factor in the fulfillment of prophecy.
Consider a man who came to my office looking for number 194. He saw 190, then 192, then 199. Where is 194? He knew where he was going, but he needed to be guided to locate it. Many of us know what's available for us or what path to take, but we need to be guided to get there. It is not enough to know what to do. You need to be guided.
"Any vision or revelation, no matter how authentic, we suffer frustration without access to divine direction."
Ecclesiastes 10:10 says, "If the iron be blunt and he do not whet the edge, then must he put more strength; but wisdom is profitable to direct." When you are directed, you end up in profit.
In Exodus 13:17, when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. God said, "Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war and return to Egypt." They knew they were going to the land of Canaan. They had been delivered, but they needed guidance to get where they were going.
"The ways of God may be long, but the end is sure."
He led them north, away from the Philistines. Although the shortcut would have shortened their journey, they would have seen war and wanted to return to Egypt—back into slavery. No more slavery in your life in the name of Jesus.
One wrong step can wreck a whole destiny. That is why we need divine direction. Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
"Next to salvation, divine direction stands out as a great asset in the journey of life."
Psalm 23:1-6 reveals the benefits of divine direction:
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
When God is leading you, you have peace of mind. As long as God is leading you, goodness and mercy becomes the order of the day in your life. From now on, that shall be your experience.
In Isaiah 42:16, He says, "And they thirsted not when he led them through the desert. He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them. He cleaved the rock also, and the waters gushed out." When He left them through the desert, they fasted not. The desert is a dry land, but as long as it was the Lord leading them, thirst was averted.
"Every difficulty on your path this season, I see them taken away in the name of Jesus."
Number One: It Secures Divine Presence
Exodus 33:11-14: "And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend... And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou seest unto me, Br, and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and I have found grace in thy sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee... And the Lord said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest."
When God is leading you, you secure divine presence. And if God be for you, who is the devil that can be against you? Divine guidance secures divine presence, and that guarantees all rest.
Number Two: It Triggers Supernatural Breakthroughs
Isaiah 45:1-3: "Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden to subdue nations before thee... I will go before thee and make the crooked places straight. I will break in pieces the gates of brass and cut in sunder the bars of iron. And I will give thee the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I am the Lord, which call thee by thy name."
This year, God will prove His might in your life. Every barrier in your path is cleared off when God is leading you. Every barrier taken away.
Number Three: It Renders Your Enemies Helpless
Psalm 23:5: "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over."
Your enemy is looking at the table, but they are helpless. You are eating. They can't do anything. This year, every enemy against your destiny will leave you alone because you are being guided by the Lord. Your enemy cannot stop what God is doing in your life.
Number One: Be Born Again and Remain So
John 1:12 says, "As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even as many as believe in his name." Power to become resides in you receiving Him. This is a transformational power that transforms you from a man to somebody in the likeness of God.
Romans 8:14 declares, "As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
Being born again grants you access to divine guidance. You are automatically a candidate for divine guidance when you are born again.
Number Two: Always Acknowledge That You Are Limited, Powerless, and Helpless Without God
You must acknowledge that fact. Agree with yourself. Tell yourself that you are helpless and powerless without God. You must acknowledge that you are limited.
2 Chronicles 20:10-17 illustrates this. When the children of Ammon and Moab came to cast Judah out of their possession, the people declared, "Oh our God, wilt thou not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that cometh against us, neither know we what to do, but our eyes are upon thee."
Because they acknowledged their helplessness, the hand of God came upon the prophet. He said, "Tomorrow go ye down against them. Behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz... Ye shall not need to fight in this battle. Set yourselves, stand ye still and see the salvation of the Lord... Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord will be with you."
The rest was history. God gave them exactly how to approach the battle because they acknowledged their helplessness. God will see you through.
In summary:
You don't sweat when you step out in divine guidance. You don't sweat at all.
Psalm 37:23-25: "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am I old, yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
You will not beg bread. You will never lack in the name of Jesus. In the midst of adversity, you will be breaking ground. Rest your feet. Give God praise and glory. He is worthy this morning. Magnify Him. Exalt Him. Celebrate Him. Worship Him. Give Him glory. Give Him praise.
Father, I don't know what to do. Guide me from now on. You have declared that this year is my year of new beginning. Guide me, Lord. Guide me, Lord. Guide me, Lord. I need Your guidance. I need Your direction. Direct me, Oh Lord. Direct me, Oh Lord. Let the lines fall to me in pleasant places. Let the lines fall unto me in pleasant places by Your guidance this year. Thank You, heavenly Father. I give You all the praise and all the glory in Jesus' most precious name. It is done.
