We gather this morning on a day of thanksgiving to magnify the name of the Almighty God. Our text comes from Psalm 105:1-11. Let me read it with you:
Oh give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. Glory ye in His holy name; let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord. Remember His marvelous works that he have done, his wonders and the judgment of his mouth. Is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth, which covenant he made with Abraham and his oath unto Isaac, saying unto thee I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.
When we talk about God's faithfulness, we are talking about His unwavering reliability and consistency in keeping His promises and fulfilling His word. We are talking about His unchanging nature, His love and faithfulness in His relationship with His people.
Our God never changed. What He has said in the time past is what He's going to do. Deuteronomy 7:9 reminds us:
Know therefore that the Lord thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercies with them that loved him and keep his commandment to a thousand generations.
Psalm 105 gives us an account of the faithfulness of God to the children of Israel. God made a covenant and a promise to Abraham. He repeated that promise to Isaac and Jacob—that He was going to give their descendants the land of Canaan and make of their descendants a great nation.
When the children of Israel were moving from nation to nation and from kingdom to kingdom, God Almighty suffered no one to do them harm. He reproved kings for their sake, saying, "Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm." This means God protected them.
When they got to the land of Egypt, they were few in number, and God increased them greatly and made them stronger than their enemies. God will increase you and make you stronger than your enemies in Jesus mighty name.
When they came under oppression in Egypt, God sent deliverance unto them and brought them out of the land of Egypt. The Bible says He brought them forth also with silver and gold, and there was not a feeble person among their tribes—no one was sick. The faithful God confirmed that covenant; He fulfilled the promise He made by giving them the land of Canaan.
Every promise that God has made over you and your family shall come to pass in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
God is faithful to His word because His word is an expression of His character. Psalm 119:89-90 says:
Forever, O Lord, your word is settled in heaven. Standing firm and unchangeable, your faithfulness continues from generation to generation.
When we talk about the faithfulness of God, we're saying that God can be trusted to do exactly everything He said He's going to do. When we talk about the faithfulness of God, we are saying that God will consistently keep His promises and fulfill His word, regardless of whatever is going on.
Numbers 23:19 declares:
God is not a man that should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent. As He said, it shall He not do? Or have it spoken and shall He not make it good?
Man can make promises, and they may find it difficult to keep. Man can make promises with good intention, but at the end of the day, they may be limited by their resources. This is not the same with our God. Everything He said He's going to do, He will surely do it. Every promise of God concerning your life will surely come to pass.
Joshua 21:43-45 tells us:
So the Lord gave to Israel all the land He has sworn to give their ancestors. They took possession of it and settled there. And the Lord gave them rest on every side, just as He has solemnly promised their ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the Lord helped them conquer all their enemies. Not a single one of the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled. Everything He has spoken came true.
That is the faithfulness of God! The Lord kept every one of the promises He had made to the people of Israel. The promises that God made years and years ago still stand because our God does not change.
Malachi 3:6 says, "For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." Our God remains constant, firm, and unchangeable.
You may be believing God for something. You may have had a prayer request and you still think, "Why?" Know that God has an appointed time for everything. He has His own timing, and at that appointed time, He will bring to pass His promise concerning you.
There may be some delay. It doesn't mean that God is not going to do it. He's still working on what He's going to do for you.
God made a promise to Abraham and Sarah. He promised to bless them with a son. In Genesis 18:9-14, when He repeated the promise, Sarah laughed. Why? Because she was looking at her condition—she was past the age of bearing children, and she was thinking, "This may be impossible."
There may be some people here thinking, "Oh, now things seem difficult; it may seem impossible." But know that our God is an impossibility specialist. There's nothing that He cannot do. At His appointed time, He will do it for you.
God said, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed, I will return unto thee according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son." After 25 years from the time God made the initial promise, He brought that promise to fulfillment.
There may be some delay, like I've said, but God is still working behind the scene. He's still going to do it. God will never leave you; He will not abandon you. Everything He said concerning your life—His word—He will fulfill it in His appointed time, in the mighty name of Jesus.
This morning, I want us to remember God's faithfulness in our lives. God that has been faithful to you in the past will be faithful to you in the future. That's why I want you to remember His faithfulness over your life. God that has helped you in the past will help you in the future. That's why I want you to remember the way He has helped you in the past.
Psalm 77:11-12 says:
I will remember the works of the Lord; surely I will remember the wonders of old. I will meditate also of all Thy work and talk of Thy doings.
In Psalm 89:1:
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 40:10 in the New Living Translation says:
I have not kept the good news of Your justice eating in my heart. I have talked about Your faithfulness and saving power. I have told everyone in the great assemblies of Your unfailing love and faithfulness.
Remember the faithfulness of God in your life. Talk about the faithfulness of God; tell people about what God has done for you. Because, like I said, He that has done it in the past will still do it again and again.
In this month of testimony, do not hide the testimony of what God has done. Remember how God has answered your prayers. Those prayer requests you presented before Him—He has answered them.
Psalm 138:1-3 says:
I will praise Thee with my whole heart before the gods. I will sing praise unto Thee. I will worship toward the Holy Temple and praise Thy name for Thy loving kindness and for Thy truth, for Thou hast magnified Thy word above Thy name. In the day when I cry, Thou answerest me and strengthen me with the strength in my soul.
He said, "In that day when I cried, He answered me." Remember that God has been the source of your help.
In 1 Samuel 7:1-12, the Philistines rose up against the people of Israel. Samuel told them that they should put away their idols because the faithful God will not behold sin. They put away the images, put away the hideousness, and confessed their sin unto God. As they did that, God fought for them.
When the Philistine army was coming against them, God thundered from heaven and caused confusion among the Philistines, giving victory to the people of Israel. Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shekh and called it Ebenezer, saying, "Hitherto hath the Lord helped us."
Remember those helps He has rendered unto you and give Him thanks this morning.
In 1 Samuel 17:37, David said:
Moreover, the Lord that had delivered me out of the power of the lion, out of the power of the bear—He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.
David recalled how God had helped him in the past. He gave a testimony of that to Saul. Because he knew that God that had helped him in the past would help him against Goliath, and God did that.
Remember that God has made you to be His candidates of grace and mercy. Remember His grace and mercy over you and your family. Remember everything that He has done.
Remember:
Think about everything He has done. Think about His faithfulness in your life and give Him thanks this morning. Give Him praise this morning.
Trust in the faithfulness of God. Like I said, God that has been faithful to you in the past will be faithful to you in the future.
1 Thessalonians 5:24 in the Amplified Bible says:
Faithful and absolutely trustworthy is He who is calling you to Himself for your salvation. He will do it. He will fulfill His call by making you holy, guiding you, watching over you, protecting you as His own.
Faithful is God that has called you. He will make you holy. He will guide you. He will watch over you. He will protect you as His own.
Once you trust in the faithfulness of God, God will protect you. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 says, "The Lord is faithful; He will establish you and guide you from the evil one."
When you trust in the faithfulness of God, He will preserve your life. The Bible tells us that our lives are in the hand of God our creator. Job 12:10 says:
In whose hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all my kind.
Psalm 91:16 says:
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.
With long life, God will satisfy you and show you His salvation in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
How do we respond to the faithfulness of God? We respond to the faithfulness of God in several ways.
First, with praise and thanksgiving. As we can see from Psalm 105:1-4:
Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people. Sing unto Him, sing praises unto Him; talk of His wonderful works. Glory ye in His holy name; let the heart of them rejoice that seek Him.
We respond to the faithfulness of God by giving Him praise and thanksgiving.
Second, by giving testimony. We respond by telling people of what God has done in your life.
Third, by being faithful. We respond by being faithful in the place of prayer, faithful in the study of our word, faithful in a life of obedience unto God, faithful in the payment of our tithes, faithful in our walk with God.
That is how we respond to the faithfulness of God.
I pray that the grace to please God, God will give unto you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Our God is a faithful God. He's been faithful unto us. He's done great things unto us.
We are going to rise and thank Him for everything He has done. Rise up now. Think about His love. Think about His goodness. Think about His grace that's brought us through.
Think about everything He has done in your life. Think about His faithfulness unto you, unto your family, and begin to give Him thanks.
If you are here this morning and you've not given your life to Christ and you want to give your life to Christ, I want you to raise up your hands and come forward. Talk unto the Almighty God:
Father Jehovah, I come before you. I am a sinner. Please forgive me for all my sins. I repent of all these sins. Wash me in the blood of Jesus. I surrender my life unto our Lord Jesus Christ. Give me the grace and the strength not to sin against you. Help me to walk in ways that are pleasing unto you in Jesus mighty name.
Our God is faithful. We're going to start by saying:
Father, thank you for your faithfulness over me. Thank you for your faithfulness over my family. Thank you for your faithfulness over me and my family. You've been faithful through the ages, through the years. It is your faithfulness, God. Thank you for your faithfulness over me and my family. Father, I give you praise. I give you glory in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank you, Almighty God, for your faithfulness. Thank you for the blessings you've given unto us. Thank you, Almighty God. We give you praise and glory in the mighty name of Jesus.
In Jesus mighty name we pray. Father God, we bless your name. We give you praise. We give you glory. Thank you for your faithfulness over each and every one of us. Father, you have indeed been faithful unto us. Thank you for your provision, for your protection. We bless your name, Almighty God, in the mighty name of Jesus.
Jehovah God, I decree and I declare that you that have been faithful in the past will continue to be faithful over your people in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You that have helped them in the past will continue to help them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Father, Jehovah God Almighty, in the remaining months of this year and the years to come, you will watch over them. You will protect them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I decree that no evil will befall you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
I pray that Jehovah God that have fought the battles in the past will continue to fight for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. He that have provided for you will provide more and more for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Every enemy that is waiting to hear evil news concerning you will wait permanently in the name of Jesus Christ. Every enemy that has set traps for you will fall into their own traps in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. God will continue to lift you up. God will continue to provide for you. God will continue to bless you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Any pending prayer request—we have a God that can do a miracle within 24 hours. God will do that miracle for you in the name of Jesus Christ. I decree and I declare you will not fall; you will not fail in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. When you need a voice, God will be the voice for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
I decree over your children, all your children, wherever they may be—God will watch over them. God will protect them. God will guide them. We separate your children from negative friends, friends that will lead them astray in the mighty name of Jesus. And we pray for the Church of God, Restoration Chapel. The church will continue to move forward. The church will continue to increase. Every evil thought and imagination concerning the church of God, Jehovah will continue to frustrate it in Jesus mighty name.
We sing unto the Lord a joyful song, and we praise His name, for the Lord is good. Hallelujah.
