Revival: Breaking Idols and the Power of Sound

We've been asking important questions: What does revival sound like? What does revival look like? What does revival feel like? How do you know if you're in revival? And what is the evidence of revival?
We have conditioned ourselves to think revival is an anomaly—something that sporadically happens. But we're not conditioned to believe that we can live in a constant revival. Here's the thing: to revive just means life again. To revive means life again. And I believe that there was life again tonight.
When someone is certified in CPR, when something or someone is dead, the first thing they teach you is to find a location to compress upon their chest. Here's the critical insight: I can't revive you if I can't break a rib to press on you.
There is no revival without something being broken. But the question I ask you: if He can't break you, He can't revive you. Would you rather die whole or live broken?
God says, "You have to be broken. You have to allow Me to hover over you and press in an uncomfortable place. I have to break something that will heal again. I'm not worried about mouth-to-mouth. I'm worried about breaking your rib cage so I can get to your sensitive spot."
The same thing that guarded your organs has to be broken.
We don't volunteer to be broken. We volunteer to be made whole. But here's what we don't understand: before I could be revived, I got to volunteer to be broken.
If there's anyone hungry enough to realize, "I don't care what You break in me, I need to live again. I don't care how much it hurts me, I got to live again. I don't care what You take from me, I have to live"—then say it: Break me, God. Break me, God.
Here's the thing about being broken by God: I'm still in His hand. I'm still in His hand. I'm a Potter's clay, but I'm still in His hand.
So when you ask, "How do I know when something is in revival?" God says, "I'm looking for broken people. I'm not looking for people who think they got it all together. I'm not looking for people who say, 'I live in the abyss of everything is okay.' I'm talking to you in here and you online. I'm talking to some broken people." That is an indication of revival.
Pastor Oscar heard the Lord tell him a specific word. In 1 Corinthians 14, every tongue does not have to be interpreted. But if the interpretation is for the body, the church, we interpret. And God said there would be no interpretation. God said:
I am tearing down idols that were fractured but yet re-erected. I am tearing down idols that were broken but yet rebuilt. My glory shall destroy them all. Trust me and you will win. You will lose without me.
Breakthroughs come. They are not anomalies. But when we leave, we re-erect idols that God has torn down. The Holy Spirit said, "Some of your idols have been fractured. They've been injured, but they're still standing."
There is something high in your life. You bring it down, but you push it right back up. Oh God, I weep with you and I weep for you. Because the Lord is saying—whether you are in this place or online—this is the last day that you struggle with what you've been struggling with.
There are a lot of things that start going back up when our flesh refuses to go down. Whatever it is, do not erect it.
Now, you know how we do as preachers. We call you to the altar. We'll pray over you. We lay hands. You're delivered. The power of God is there. We can always break Satan's hold off you. We just can't always break your hold off Satan. It is your responsibility.
When these erected idols come down, leave them. Some of them you may have to step over. Some of them you might not have to text back. Some of them you don't have to go back. You don't have to explain yourself. God says if you trust me, you're going to win.
In Psalms 85:1 the Bible says the people asked the Lord, "Will you not revive us so that we can rejoice?" I think Pastor Dobbins, Pastor Johnson, and Pastor Oscar just gave you the insight on what that looks like. If you want to rejoice, you got to lay those idols down.
Can we in this moment without any laying on of hands invite you to this altar to come and lay your idol down? This is the moment. This is the time. God has prepared the atmosphere for you to come and lay your idol down.
When I was studying the Seraphim, Spurgeon says upon deeper research that the Seraphim were certified to carry the hot coals, the fire of God. And the Holy Ghost began to speak to me, and it all makes sense now why you had to cast down idols. God's about to set you on fire for the glory of God.
If He gave you that inferno, that Holy Ghost fire when you had an idol, you would have destroyed it. God's about to burn up everything that's not like Him. Your past is burned up. Your future is getting ready to blaze for the glory of God. Your money's getting ready to blaze. Your business is going to blaze. Your marriage is going to blaze. Your body is going to blaze with healing. Your mind is going to blaze with creativity. Your children are getting ready to blaze.
I wish I had somebody who would catch on fire for the glory of God. BURN, BABY. BURN. This is the fire of the Holy Ghost. This is the fire that cleanses my tongue. It cleanses my mind. It cleanses my body. It sets my feet on fire.
The right type of worship will reveal what has not been seen. When King Isaiah died, he saw not only the train fill the temple, he saw the smoke, he saw something he had never seen before.
I don't know who I'm talking to today. The Lord has set you on fire, but you're about to see something you have never seen before in your life. Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, but the right type of worship. God is seeking such. He says, "I'm looking for those who will worship me in spirit and in truth."
Here's the thing: when the smoke filled the room, He didn't ask for it. He wasn't looking for it. God is about to bless you with something you didn't ask for and you weren't looking for. I am declaring over the next 30 days: God is about to introduce you to a season of your life that will blow your mind. And the only thing you're going to say is, "God did it. God did it. God did it."
The revival is still in effect.
As Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up and his train filled the temple, let me take you to the New Testament. You are the temple.
Know ye not that you are the temple? And that the God that Isaiah saw now lives in you? So everything he saw you can see because He's in you the hope of glory.
I am the temple. And His train is filling my temple. I laid my idol down so His strength can fill my temple. My temple, my holy place, my temple.
Greater is He that's on the inside of me. Greater is He that's in me. God in you the hope of glory.
I'm carrying His glory. I'm carrying His glory. I'm carrying His glory. That's why you can walk through that trial—'cause you got glory. That's why you can walk through that test—'cause you got glory. That's why you can go on that job and not be bothered—'cause you got glory.
Passtor Brady said this Sunday, "There is such a hunger and a thirst in this place. If y'all don't shut up that thirst, we ain't going to get out of here." Because he who hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled.
I wonder if we got any hungry people that say, "God, even me, let some drops now fall. I can stand another filling. I know You filled me, but God, I'm hungry. I'm a little greedy for Your glory. Will You fill me again?"
We talked about idols falling, but there's one thing we haven't talked about: what pushed the post? The scripture says it was a sound. Because of the sound.
There is what we call high frequency and there is low frequency. Sometimes we think high frequency is the most effective because it sounds loud and amplified, and things do shatter because of high sound. But what moved the post was not high sound. Because for the post to move, there had to be a low enough rumble. There had to be a sound that came from the depths of the earth.
In order to uproot things, you can't hit it from the top. You got to hit it from the bottom. Though high sound shatters, low sound rumbles. And anything that rumbles gets broken up at the foundation. Anything that rumbles gets broken up at the root.
Because sometimes you're focused too much on the high. You're leaving the roots in place. That's why the idol gets resurrected.
But God is saying, "What I'm getting ready to do with your sound: I'm getting ready to go to the root of your problem. I'm getting ready to go to the root of that disease. I'm getting ready to go to the root of that addiction. That thing goes back generation after generation. You thought it started with you, but it started with your grandma. But I'm getting ready to give you a sound that's getting ready to go back, back, back, back, back."
I'm getting ready to birth in you a sound that's going to get to the root. Because this time when the idol falls, this time when the post moves, it's coming up out of the ground. I'm getting ready to uproot it.
This sound is not just for me but for everybody I'm connected to. This sound is not just for me but everybody that I'm connected to. This sound is for my community. This sound is for my church. This sound is for my family.
This sound is going into the jail house. Every family member that you got in jail—this sound is getting ready to go into the jail house. And I want you to make a sound for every family member that you got in the hospital. This sound is getting ready to go into every hospital. This time it's getting ready to go into every operating room. This time it's getting ready to go into every facility.
Because sound travels. It doesn't just stay in one place. Sound travels. And the heavier the sound, the faster it travels.
That's why the enemy fights your sound in worship—because sound travels. Sound does not stand still. Sound travels faster and farther than you think. And when sound has the frequency of heaven, it will go into realms that you can't even see.
This is what happens when the sound reaches heaven's throne: the post start to move. Stuff starts to rumble. And then all of a sudden we see a light at the end of the tunnel.
If sound wasn't important, God would not have used it to create the world. He used it. He could have done anything. But He was showing us that in order to create out of chaos, you got to make a sound. In order to break up darkness, you have to make a sound.
At the beginning of service, I told you: clapping is good. Don't stop clapping, but don't let clapping replace your sound. The Bible didn't say clapping—death and life is in the power of your tongue. So if you want to see something move, it's good to clap. You can clap all day long and those posts are going to stay there. But if you put those hands to your side and open up your mouth, that's it. There it is.
For all you quiet people that's saying, "Don't take all this, you stay quiet"—that's your choice. But the Bible tells us that we got to make a sound. So it will shake heaven and it will loose the bands of wickedness.
If you're one of those people, open your mouth. This is revival. This is revival.
High frequency is important. Clapping your hands is important. But the enemy knows if he can get you to close your mouth. He don't mind you clapping your hands to a rhythm. But it's something about when you open up your mouth. God doesn't care about the tone. He doesn't care if you in unison. Heaven moves from sound.
I want you to understand something, and I don't want you to just leave here inspirational. I want you to leave here informational.
When we talk about low frequency and high frequency: When the wall of Jericho fell flat, we always talk about the high frequency—we just shout at the wall and the wall fell flat. But you must not forget that was a low frequency. When He told them to close their mouth and just walk, every time you walk, God was bothering the foundation. There was a rumbling when you're walking. You didn't have to open your mouth first. There was a rumbling every time they moved.
Watch this: when God realized the foundation was weak, He said, "Now shout at it." And the Bible says the wall did not crumble. The wall didn't collapse. The wall fell. It fell flat. Which means the molecules that kept the stones together could not stand the frequency upon which the shout came.
I don't know who I'm talking to today. This next shout that you give God, everything that the enemy was hindering, trying to block you with—God said that thing is going to fall.
If we talk about sound, we're going to shift, because when you realize that the enemy at Jericho did not know that their foundation was weakening. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because your silence confuses the enemy. Your enemy is expecting you to fight one way and is confused and does not even know that your footsteps and silence is breaking up the foundation of everything that the enemy thought it was keeping you from.
Here's the science of it. In order for the frequency—the low frequency—to work, the sound has to match the frequency of what it's going up against. See, you think we just telling you to scream for scream's sake, but I want you to understand the physical science and the spiritual science of it.
For some devils that you are fighting, you got to match the tenacity of the enemy that's coming against you. Your praise has to be just as loud as his attack. That's why you shout. Because once your praise matches the level of His attack, and because your praise has super on it, it will overtake everything that the enemy is bringing your way.
That's why you shout: because you are matching the energy of the attacker.
Greater is He that's in me than he that is in the world. Greater is the shout that's in me than the trouble that's in the world. Greater is the victory that's in me than the trouble in the world. That's why I shout. That's why I holler. That's why I praise. That's why I scream.
That's why I can't let a rock cry out for me. A rock doesn't know my story. A rock doesn't know my testimony. A rock can't cry as loud as I can. But for this devil I'm facing, I got to use the sound to crush.
In order for anything to move, your prayer life has to match the same energy of the attack. Your worship has to match. If you feel like the enemy is coming at you, if you feel like every time you wake up there's a new devil after you, then that means that every time you wake up, your prayer life needs to be matching the thing that's trying to attack you.
Because what the enemy does not know is that your consistency is what is loosening the foundation around what he's trying to attack you with. That is the reason why he wants you to be inconsistent. That's the reason why it's a struggle to come to church. It's a struggle to pray. It's a struggle to read—because he understands: if I can get you inconsistent in the fight, you'll walk around one time and think because you didn't see nothing happening, you'll stop.
But God sometimes is working underneath the surface. God is working in places that you can't see. And He said, "As long as you stay consistent, I'll do the work underneath. I'll do the work that you can't see."
The children of Israel did not know what was happening. All they had was obedience—to walk around in silence. While the people of Jericho was making fun of them, laughing at them, taunting them, saying, "Why y'all ain't fighting back?"—that's what's happening in some of your life. People are looking at you crazy. 'Why you not fighting back? Why you not talking back? Why all you doing is walking?'
You don't have to explain nothing to them. Just keep walking. You don't have to say nothing. Just keep walking. Because God said because of your faithfulness, just keep praying. You don't have to explain nothing to them. You don't have to get online and explain yourself. Just keep praying. Keep praying. Keep praying.
I know you don't see nothing. Keep praying. I know it feel like it's not working. Keep praying. You're worshiping. You don't feel no change. It's not about a feeling. It was never about a feeling. It's about a knowing. Keep worshiping. You don't feel like coming to church, come anyway. Tell yourself, "I command my soul to get into the house of the Lord. You don't have a choice in this. We in a fight, baby. You don't have a choice in this. I got to be where the glory is."
You keep praising. You keep making your sound. You keep walking. You keep praying. You keep fasting. You keep doing the things that you know. And little bit by little bit, little bit by little bit, you're not going to see it. And neither is the enemy. But little bit by little bit, the enemy ain't going to know what hit him.
Just keep your mouth closed. Don't use your energy to go after them. Your energy is in your feet. How beautiful are the feet of them that carry the gospel. Feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. You keep walking.
And by the time you look up when you hear the trumpet—when you hear the trumpet, the trumpet was their signal to shout. They just didn't shout randomly, but they were walking until they heard the trumpet. God is going to sound an alarm in your life that's going to let you know time is up. Time of silence is up. Time of waiting is up. And now you getting ready to go into the place that tried to keep you out. That's what glory will do. That's what glory will do. That's what glory will do.
This is a peculiar moment. Because I see healing all over this atmosphere.
I want you to find your posture and talk to the Lord for a second. I want you to ask the Lord, "Father, what is next for me? Father, what would you have me to do?" Talk to Him. Let Him talk back to you.
Some of you all are too busy. You're too anxious, nervous that it's not going to happen. You think God's forgotten about you. You're trying to make it happen for yourself. And you just got to stop and say, "God, what is next for me? What would you have me to do?"
I want you to get a seed. In that same spirit, in that same spirit of glory, I want you to get your best seed. I want you to ask the Lord: "Father, what can I deposit in this atmosphere tonight?"
Because I'm going to tell you something: This atmosphere is conducive for miracles, signs, and wonders. If I were you, I would put a demand on the seed and say, "Father, I am sowing because I know that what I plant in this soil tonight is going to grow up faster than what I expected."
This is called an accelerated atmosphere. I'm not just sowing into the earth. I'm sowing into heaven right now because heaven has touched earth.
This seed—this is my trust you God seed. This seed I'm waving because God I trust you.
I trust you with my future. I trust you God with my children. I trust you with my job. I trust you with my finances. I trust you with my home. I trust you with my next decision. I trust you with my business. I trust you with my health. I trust you.
This seed, this seed, this seed is because I trust you.
Every believer, everybody that's trusting God—if you trust in God, if you trust in God, if you trust in God, then I'm trusting you, God. I'm trusting you. I'm not trusting this economy. I'm not trusting my job. I'm not trusting the stock market, God. I trust you that you have never failed and you never will.
Every believer that's trusting God, wave your seed in the air. Wave it high. Let that glory touch your seed.
Father, I thank you for the seed that we have to give. I thank you that we're coming into agreement and we're coming into covenant because we trust you and we believe, God, that you will do everything you said. God, we thank you that we're dancing on things that we once lived in. God, we thank you, Father, that we're praising God for walls that are coming down. God, we thank you that the posts have been moved and we see your glory.
We thank you, Father, that we're leaving this place, God, filled with your glory. God, we're going to sleep filled with your glory and we're going to rise filled with your glory. God, we thank you that we've got a sound that will push back the enemy. God, we thank you that we've got understanding with our sound. God, we thank you that we understand that you burst something in us, God, that will cause us to frighten the enemy.
And so, we thank you for the confirmations on tonight. This seed that we sow that is going into good ground: thank you that it will blossom and bless not just this house but millions of other homes as well. Thank you that it will return back to me 10, 20, 30, 100fold because you told me you will give seed to the sower. So, I'm sowing right now and I'm expecting God more seed so I can continue to sow and I give in your name. In Jesus name.
